My Journey
I’m Noah Bakour, a Syrian-born, UK-based film director and visual artist. My creative journey began at the age of 17 in Syria, where I worked as a journalist during the Syrian civil war. Growing up amidst a rich cultural heritage, I developed a deep appreciation for language, culture, and resilience—qualities that continue to shape my work today.
When I moved to the UK, I faced the challenges of navigating identity and belonging in a new cultural landscape. These experiences profoundly influenced my artistic vision and ignited my passion for storytelling, which I use to bridge cultures, amplify under-represented voices, and inspire meaningful change.
My Work
Now based in the UK, I merge the creative influences of my Syrian roots with British culture, shaping a unique voice in my films and art. My creative process blends documentary realism with imaginative storytelling, allowing me to connect deeply with audiences and foster empathy across cultures.
Looking Ahead
I aspire to expand my work globally, using film and art to advocate for cultural preservation and environmental justice. Through my projects, I aim to create meaningful dialogue, celebrate human diversity, and empower communities to tell their own stories.
